Z‑drive Azimuth Propeller
Z-drive azimuth propeller with two-stage bevel gear transmission in a sealed pod, rotating 360° to replace propeller and rudder. For harbour tugs, inland vessels, dredgers, supply and patrol vessels.
Description
The Z-drive Azimuth Propeller combines power transmission, thrust and steering in one unit, removing the need for a rudder. Power from the engine or motor passes through two bevel gear stages in a Z-shaped path (horizontal input shaft, vertical shaft, horizontal propeller shaft), and the whole underwater unit rotates 360° about the vertical axis.

- Two-stage bevel gear transmission enclosed in a sealed, corrosion-resistant pod
- Hydraulic or electric steering control
- Pod housing in high-strength marine steel with anti-fouling coating
- Modular design with separate sealing and lubrication for each main component, allowing local part replacement
