Business description

Scania supplies marine power systems through its Power Solutions business, from propulsion for planing craft and displacement hulls to heavy-duty auxiliary applications. The engines are based on the modular platform used in Scania trucks, buses and industrial units and are adapted for marine operation.

  • Marine propulsion engines for workboats, passenger vessels and fishing boats, with high torque at low revs and hybrid electric options
  • Marine auxiliary engines running at a constant 1500 or 1800 rpm for generator sets, emergency sets, pumps, fishing gear and bow thrusters
  • Diesel-electric installations built from multiple Scania generator engines
  • Electrified power: electric machines and battery packs for hybrid and fully electric vessels
  • Interchangeable components and spare parts shared across the engine range to shorten service stops
