Deck Combination Azimuth Thruster

Modular deck-mounted azimuth thruster combining a deck-mounted diesel or PM-motor power unit, gearbox, vertical shaft and 360° underwater pod with ducted or open propeller.

Description

The Deck Combination Azimuth Thruster from Misea Marine is a modular, deck-mounted propulsion and steering system that replaces a conventional stern propeller and rudder. It needs no underwater shafting or fixed rudder and can be fitted without major hull modification.

Design

  • Power unit (diesel engine or permanent magnet motor) mounted on deck
  • Power transmitted through a sealed gearbox and vertical shaft to the underwater propulsion pod
  • Hydraulic or electric steering drive for continuous 360° rotation
  • Ducted or open propeller
  • Hardened gears, high-load bearings, sealed oil circuit and waterproof protection
  • Stepless thrust adjustment and steering angle locking via control system

Configurations

  • Main propulsion for small and medium-sized vessels, or auxiliary/positioning propulsion for large offshore ships
  • Multiple units can be combined; modules can be removed and replaced independently

Applications

Port tugboats, offshore wind farm maintenance ships, cable-laying vessels, floating cranes, jack-up platforms, working barges and offshore support vessels.
