Azimuth Thruster
360° azimuth thrusters in Z-drive and L-drive mechanical versions and electric pod types, with hydraulic or servo-electric steering, for tugs, OSVs, AHTS, yachts, dredgers and research vessels.
Description
The Azimuth Thruster from Misea Marine is a propulsion and steering unit that rotates 360° about its vertical axis, delivering thrust in any direction for zero-radius turning, lateral movement and dynamic positioning.
Construction
- Propeller in a sealed pod as the thrust unit
- Z-drive or L-drive mechanical transmission with precision bevel gears, or electric pod type with built-in motor and no intermediate transmission
- Azimuth rotation driven by hydraulic or servo electric motors, continuous 360° stepless rotation
- Closed-loop control coordinating rotation and propulsion
Configurations
Mechanical transmission and electric pod types, covering power ranges from small auxiliary ships to large offshore engineering vessels.
Applications
Tugboats; offshore support vessels including platform supply and anchor handling ships; cruise ships and large yachts; dredgers, wind farm installation ships and marine research vessels.
