Hydraulic Rudder Propeller
Fully hydraulic rudder propeller combining propulsion and 360° steering; constant-speed engine with stepless propeller speed, 1–4 units at bow, stern or side. For inland vessels, tugs and work barges.
Description
The Hydraulic Rudder Propeller combines propeller and rudder functions in one hydraulically driven unit. A diesel engine or electric motor drives a hydraulic pump that powers the propeller motor and the steering actuator, giving 360° steering and stepless forward/reverse speed control.
Construction
- Hydraulic power unit, azimuth steering mechanism, propeller, sealing assembly and support base
- High-strength marine alloy load-bearing parts; seals against seawater ingress and oil leakage
- Mounting at bow, stern or side; 1 to 4 units per vessel depending on tonnage and duty
Key features
- Engine runs at constant speed while propeller speed is varied proportionally in both directions
- Automatic pressure and flow balancing to prevent stalling
- Hydraulic adjustment keeps the propeller at suitable immersion depth for different drafts
- Short emergency stopping distance
- Options: remote control panels and hydraulic lifting mechanism for maintenance without docking
