Marine Deck Mounted Azimuth Thruster

Self-contained deck-mounted azimuth thruster with 360° rotation, electric, diesel or hydraulic drive, optional lift/swing-up, for tugs, offshore workboats, ferries and research ships.

Description

The Marine Deck Mounted Azimuth Thruster from Misea Marine is a compact propulsion and steering unit mounted entirely on deck on its own base frame, integrating power transmission, rotation control and propeller. It replaces a propeller-and-rudder arrangement and requires no hull cutting.

Key features

  • Modular base frame; can be installed at bow, stern or side deck positions
  • Optional lifting/swing-up function on most models to raise the propeller out of the water when not in use
  • Full 360° rotation for omnidirectional thrust; manufacturer cites 30% smaller turning radius and 20% faster thrust response than conventional propulsion
  • Protective housing of corrosion-resistant marine steel; multi-layer seals on transmission and rotating parts
  • Centralised control with monitoring of rotation angle, thrust, speed and status; handheld or cabin control; fault diagnosis
  • All core components accessible above water for maintenance without docking

Drive options

  • Electric motor, diesel engine or hydraulic motor
  • Power transmitted via elastic couplings, clutches and universal joint shafts

Applications

Harbor tugboats, offshore wind farm vessels, coastal ferries, marine research ships and engineering vessels.
