Description
The Fountom Diesel Engine Driven Azimuth Thruster is a 360° steerable propulsion unit driven directly by a diesel engine, available with controllable or fixed pitch propellers in Z- or L-drive configuration. Blades and hub are bronze.
Lubricating oil is circulated by two full-capacity pumps for redundancy; in the CP hub, oil circulates via controlled leakage from the hydraulic system so it can be monitored for moisture, cooled and filtered, with condition shown continuously on the bridge control panel.
