Berg Azimuth Thruster
360° azimuth thrusters in Z-drive and L-drive versions with integrated nozzle, hybrid upper gear option for electric booster motor, and integrated control and condition monitoring; for tugs, ferries and offshore vessels.
Description
The Berg Propulsion Azimuth Thruster provides full 360° rotatable thrust, eliminating the need for a rudder and allowing vessels to move sideways, rotate on the spot and hold position in DP mode. An optimised integrated nozzle gives high bollard pull together with good free-running efficiency.
Configurations
- Z-drive – horizontal input shaft, for diesel engines or electric motors; vertically compact
- L-drive – vertical input shaft, for electric motors; horizontally compact
- Upper gear design allowing hybrid installations with a combustion engine complemented by an electric booster motor
