Description
Teignbridge supplies military propellers and shaftlines for naval vessels such as offshore patrol vessels (OPVs) and landing craft. Propellers are custom designed for each vessel's operating profile using design optimisation and CFD software. Fully CNC-machined Class S propellers are available for all designs.
Designs
- C-FOIL: anti-cavitation blade section that increases thrust and efficiency. Teignbridge cites about 5% more thrust and efficiency than standard designs
- Surface-piercing: scimitar-shaped leading edges, made to fine tolerances, always dynamically balanced, in high-strength nickel aluminium bronze or stainless steel
- Aquaquin: design with an extra blade for smooth, low-vibration running. Suits limited tip clearance. Has aerofoil sections, anti-singing edges and high-skew blades
- Highly-skewed: for low noise and smooth running on patrol craft and other high-speed vessels. Usually nickel aluminium bronze, often designed to classification society rules
