RENK Group Equipment
RENK AED Advanced Electric Drive
RENK AED (Advanced Electric Drive) is a preassembled, low-noise geared electric propulsion module of 1–5 MW for naval vessels, megayachts and research vessels.
Description
The RENK AED (Advanced Electric Drive) is a complete, preassembled electric propulsion module combining a geared motor for high power density with noise-reduction measures such as soft elastic mounting and a flexible output coupling. It targets naval vessels, megayachts and research vessels that require quiet, compact and weight-optimized propulsion. The AED can be the sole propulsion or be combined with diesel engines or gas turbines through a RENK combining transmission.
