About

Theodor Reintjes founded the business in 1879 as a mechanical workshop in Emmerich am Rhein. His son Eugen Reintjes took over in 1912 and the first gearbox was delivered in 1929. The company moved to Wagenfeld in Lower Saxony in the 1940s and to Hameln in 1955, where marine gearboxes have been produced at the current headquarters since 1971.

REINTJES GmbH is owned by the non-profit Eugen Reintjes Foundation, established in 1962 to promote health and social services in the city of Hameln. All products are manufactured in Germany and run on the in-house test stand before delivery.

The group employs more than 500 people and has eleven subsidiaries plus sales and service partners worldwide. Klaus Deleroi is Managing Director. In 2023 the company took over a former training workshop, which now operates as the REINTJES Academy.
