Description

The Mega-Guard Bridge Navigational Watch Alarm System (BNWAS) from Praxis Automation Technology monitors bridge activity and detects operator disability that could lead to marine accidents. If the officer on watch does not respond, the system alerts the on-duty officer and then other officers and crew.

Watch On mode (always active), Watch Auto On mode (active when heading or track control is engaged) and Watch Off mode (Master only, via personal code)
Watch timer adjustable from 3 to 12 minutes, reset by pushbutton or PIR motion detector
Emergency Call button activates the duty officer alarm when pressed for 2 seconds

Alarm sequence

Visual alarm on the operator panel when the timer reaches zero
Bridge audible alarm after 15 seconds without reset
Duty officer cabin alarm after a further 15 seconds
All officer cabins and crew alarm after a further 60–180 seconds (adjustable at installation)
