Hydromaster Tunnel Thrusters

Tunnel thrusters with Hydromaster gearboxes, electric, hydraulic or diesel driven, in steel or aluminium tunnels of standard or vessel-specific length; for mooring and DP station keeping.

Description

Hydromaster Tunnel Thrusters use standard Hydromaster gearboxes to produce maximum side thrust, either as mooring thrusters or to help DP vessels hold position. A large reduction ratio allows relatively large propeller diameters, giving higher thrust at lower input power. The propeller runs in a wear ring inside a steel tunnel; aluminium tunnels are also available.

Drive options

  • Electric: AC variable speed drive; vertical or horizontal induction motor; optional permanent magnet (PM) motor
  • Hydraulic: hydraulic motor, available as a complete package with pump-motor or engine combination and tank unit
  • Engine driven: L-drive or Z-drive, connected by cardan shaft to a diesel engine with reversible gearbox

Remote control panel

Drop-in wheelhouse panel with push buttons for proportional speed control (port and starboard), emergency stop, thrust indication, dimmer and buzzer.
