WESMAR Commercial Bow & Stern Thrusters

WESMAR Commercial Bow & Stern Thrusters are tunnel thrusters for commercial vessels and luxury yachts from 30 to 500 feet. They use counter-rotating dual propellers, splitting power between matched gear sets; the aft propeller recovers swirl energy from the forward propeller for more thrust per input horsepower, allowing smaller tunnel diameters with less hull space and drag.

Key features

• 5 to 500 hp, with 7-inch to 48-inch counter-rotating dual 4-blade Kaplan propellers
• All seawater-exposed components in stainless steel (props, drive leg, shaft, bearings, seal carriers); investment-cast stainless construction
• AGM matched spiral bevel gears
• Seals replaceable without dismantling the whole unit
• In-hull mounted motor isolating the power source and hydraulic oil from seawater
• Power options: DC 12 V, 24 V, 48 V, AC variable speed or hydraulic, with on/off or proportional control from multiple stations
• Optional pre-mounting in steel, aluminium or fibreglass tubes (saddle mount or weld-in)
• Can be interfaced with a dynamic positioning system
• ABS PDA design approval or other certifications available on request
• Two-bolt design: V2-7M and V2-10M are drop-in replacements for Max Power, Side Power and Vetus thrusters on metric tunnels
