Steerprop

Steerprop Ltd. was founded in 2000 by propulsion specialists and has its head office in Rauma, Finland, with further Finnish offices in Vantaa and Jyväskylä. Steerprop Inc. serves the Americas from Texas, and there is an office in Shanghai, China.

The company states that it has delivered more than 900 units in over 25 years, serves more than 50 countries through its distributor network, and that one in three azimuth icebreakers worldwide relies on its propulsion.

Steerprop is dedicated to azimuth propulsion, with in-house hydrodynamic, mechanical and CFD expertise, and takes part in research such as the NecoProp project on energy-efficient propulsion. The CEO is Riku-Pekka Hägg, and Jarmo Savikurki is a co-founder.
