Voith Schneider Propeller BRIDGE – Offshore Propulsion
Voith Schneider Propeller and Voith Inline Thruster propulsion package for offshore vessels, offering strong DP station-keeping, reduced fuel use and roll stabilization for crew transfers.
Description
BRIDGE is Voith's propulsion concept for the offshore oil and gas market, based on the Voith Schneider Propeller (VSP) and the Voith Inline Thruster (VIT).
Key features
- DP performance – vessels can be kept in position even in very high waves, severe gusts and strong currents
- Reduced fuel consumption – the VSP's immediate, accurate response to weather disturbances requires considerably less energy in dynamic positioning, and high efficiency reduces fuel use in transit and DP
- Comfort – Voith Roll Stabilization reduces seasickness, and the Voith Inline Thruster minimizes noise and vibration
- Less downtime – up to 15 more operating days per year thanks to VSP force adjustment and roll stabilization
- Productivity – up to 25% more transfers within the same time frame
Track record
Since 2007, more than 30 offshore vessels with Voith propulsion have been operating worldwide.
