Mega-Guard Vessel Management System

The Mega-Guard Vessel Management System (VMS) from Praxis Automation Technology is a modular automation system for medium to large ships, tailored to each vessel's requirements. It is type approved by major classification societies including LR, DNV GL, ABS, BV, RINA, RS, CCS, NKK, PRS and KR.

Typical functions

• Alarm and monitoring, extension alarm (engineer calling for unmanned machinery spaces)
• Valve, pump and fan control
• Cargo control and monitoring, tank gauging, fuel oil transfer
• Automatic ballasting, anti-heeling, firefighting, conning

System components

• Operator workstations: ruggedised touchscreens from 10" to 86", HD or UHD, with integrated marine PC (Windows 10 embedded, SSD) and multi-server structure; optional trackpad or trackball/keypad panel and printer
• Control processors: PLC logic with four Ethernet ports and up to eight I/O modules each, DIN-rail mounted; external communication over Ethernet, RS485/422 and CAN bus
• Operator panels: 5.7" or 8" touchscreen with built-in control processor, for EAS, PMS, PCS or fire alarm applications
• Redundant Ethernet in star, ring or mixed topology
• Marine PC (also standalone, bulkhead mount, 24 VDC): standard quad-core Celeron 2 GHz or high-performance i5 2.4 GHz, SSD 32–256 GB, failure relay outputs
• Programming to IEC 61131-3 (ST) with 3D graphic mimics, swiping, intelligent zooming with up to 4 data layers, embedded CCTV

• Standard (ST) and High Performance (HP) types; HP adds faster CPUs and 1 Gb redundant Ethernet
• Commercial ships (metal front with pushbuttons), mega yachts (glass fronts), navy ships (higher shock/vibration resistance, battle damage control)
• Internet Ship View for secure shore-based remote viewing and service access
