Description
The Tugboat Bow Thruster from Misea Marine is a lateral tunnel thruster installed in the forward hull of tugboats, providing transverse thrust for manoeuvring when stationary or at very low speed.
Construction
- Transverse tunnel with controllable-pitch propeller – thrust direction and magnitude set by blade pitch rather than reversing the motor
- Electric or hydraulic drive with high torque and overload resistance
- Corrosion-resistant marine-grade materials
- Control system for stepless port/starboard thrust adjustment
Applications
Harbor and offshore tugboats – ship berthing and unberthing assistance, adjusting towing angle, and position keeping during towing and offshore support work.
