Supreme® Water-Lubricated Forward Seal (STF-WL)
Lagersmit forward stern tube seal for open water-lubricated systems, preventing leakage into the engine room; VGP/VIDA compliant, with inflatable safety seal, condition monitoring and in-situ maintenance.
Description
The Supreme® Water-Lubricated Forward Seal (STF-WL) prevents water leakage from an open water-lubricated stern tube system into the engine room. It is in line with VGP/VIDA environmental regulations.
How it works
Outboard water is pumped through the water-lubricated stern tube bearing towards the propeller (filtering is advised because of abrasive particles). Wear-resistant NBR lip seals run on a corrosion-resistant liner with a hardened surface to extend maintenance intervals. A stainless steel freshwater tank lubricates the outermost lip seal, and level switches on the tank provide condition monitoring with early warning of lip seal problems.
