Bosch Component
Injector for alternative fuels
Bosch injector for large engines running on hydrogen, methanol, ethanol, e-methane, biomethane or ammonia; port-fuel or low-pressure direct injection, for single- and dual-fuel marine and stationary engines.
Description
The Bosch injector for alternative fuels is designed for large engine applications such as marine engines and stationary generators. It can be used as a port-fuel injection (MPI) variant or for low-pressure direct injection (DPI), and supports hydrogen, methanol, ethanol, e-methane, biomethane and ammonia.
Key features
- Port-fuel injection for methanol: straightforward integration and simple system configuration for new and existing engines
- Hydrogen direct injection prevents backfiring and enables high power densities
- Operates without external lubrication with methanol, ethanol or hydrogen
- Spray shaping cap adapts injection jets to engine operating conditions
- Side-feed variant can be replaced without disassembling the fuel line
- Design configuration for marine certification
Technical data
- Injection types: MPI (port-fuel) and DPI (low-pressure direct)
- System pressure: 100 bar (based on market requirements)
Configurations
- Side-feed injector, side-feed short variant and top-feed injector
- Single-fuel engines: optimized premixed combustion with spark plug ignition (optionally active or passive pre-chamber) or diesel pilot injection
- Dual-fuel engines: the diesel injection system ignites the alternative fuel; the engine can still run on up to 100% diesel, and in methanol operation up to approximately 90% diesel substitution is possible depending on the operating point
