Ulstein Shore Power System

Ulstein plug-and-play shore connection system for vessels, with smooth grid synchronisation and scalable power ratings, delivered for newbuilds and retrofits to cut fuel use, emissions and noise at berth.

Description

The Ulstein shore power system lets vessels connect to the shore grid in port and shut down auxiliary diesel engines at berth. Ulstein notes that vessels such as expedition cruise ships in Antarctica or offshore supply vessels can spend 10–20% of their time in port, which can add up to more than 1,000 running hours per year that could be emission-free.
