Everllence Cermet-Coated Piston Rings

Cermet-coated piston rings for Everllence two-stroke engines that minimize scuffing and wear on low-sulphur fuels (0.5% S or lower), with Alucoat running-in layer.

Description

Everllence cermet-coated piston rings protect cylinder liners against scuffing and seizure in two-stroke engines, including during prolonged operation on low-sulphur fuels (ULSFO and VLSFO, 0.5% sulphur or lower) as required by IMO 2020. They are fitted as standard on all new Everllence engines.

Design

  • Cermet coating: composite of ceramic and metallic materials with high elastic durability and resistance to temperature and seizure; continues to perform after temporary oil film breakdown
  • Alucoat: thin yellow running-in layer applied to all rings, typically worn off within the first months (in some cases after about 1,000 running hours)

Key benefits

  • Low friction
  • Reduced lube oil consumption
  • Extended cylinder liner lifetime
  • Safe and reliable running-in
  • Improved time between overhauls
