Centek Marine Component

Vernatube

Vernatube fire-retardant, resin-impregnated filament-wound glass tubing for wet marine exhaust components, also used for thruster tunnels and Lloyd's-approved shaft logs.

Description

Vernatube® is a resin-impregnated glass filament-wound tubing made with a fire-retardant resin formulated for high-temperature use. Centek Marine uses it to fabricate many components of wet marine exhaust systems.

Key features

  • Exceeds "self-extinguishing" class values per ASTM-D-635, UL94V-0 and US Navy/USCG MIL-R-21607 and MIL-R-7575
  • Smooth, resin-rich ID for minimal restriction to exhaust gas and cooling water flow
  • Precisely controlled OD for easy connection with marine exhaust hoses
  • Can be factory machined to fit exact hull dimensions

Related filament-wound products

  • Thruster tunnels – continuous helical winding with a 56° interlocking pattern for high axial and longitudinal strength, offering greater durability than pultrusion, hand layup or centrifugal casting
  • Shaft logs – additional wound layers for increased wall thickness and strength-to-weight ratios above conventional metal structures; close tolerances from mandrel winding; join with standard FRP methods; Lloyd's Register Type Approval
