Global on-site support

Ulstein provides global on-site support through all stages of a shipbuilding project, from pre-sales advisory to service and aftermarket after delivery. China is a central hub, with a Shanghai sales office, site teams at various yards since 2004, and a factory in Ningbo producing switchboards and cabinets.

Site support – technical

• Tracking technical questions and project issues; following up change orders requested by the yard
• Following up drawing comments and HAT/SAT comments
• Coordinating yard, owner and class site teams; following up class comments and document requests
• Clarifying installation procedures and manuals between yard and vendors

Site support – logistics

• Following up L/C opening, transport and logistics of equipment purchased in China
• Inspecting and recording equipment delivered by Ulstein, reporting deviations
• Coordinating replacement or repair of damaged equipment with vendors
• Following up certificates and manuals for Ulstein equipment packages

Site support – commissioning

• Arranging sub-supplier service engineers for pre-commissioning, commissioning and sea trials
• Planning commissioning and sea trials with the yard
• Coordinating yard and vendors during equipment installation
• Service and commissioning of Ulstein Power & Control deliveries at partner yards in Asia
