Cat C32B Marine Auxiliary Engine
V12 32.1 L twin-turbocharged marine auxiliary engine rated 1,053 or 1,211 bkW at 1500/1800 rpm, IMO II, IMO III (switchable) and U.S. EPA Tier 4, with airless SCR aftertreatment and about 20% more power than previous C32 ratings.
Description
The Cat C32B is a V12, 4-stroke twin-turbocharged-aftercooled diesel for commercial and high-performance marine auxiliary applications, rated at 1,053 bkW or 1,211 bkW. Redesigned core components raise cylinder pressure and power density, giving about 20% more power than previous C32 ratings without significantly increasing size or weight.
Key features
- Strengthened engine block, cylinder heads, crankshaft, connecting rods and bearings
- Airless aftertreatment: SCR without a vessel air compressor, reducing weight and maintenance
- Wall-mounted dosing cabinet for easier service and more engine room floor space
- Certified to U.S. EPA Tier 4 and IMO II; IMO III solution switchable to IMO II in approved zones
- ADEM VI electronic governor; programmable low idle (550-750 rpm); wide operating speed range (WOSR) for A and B ratings
Technical data
- Power: 1,053 or 1,211 bkW
- Frequency / speed: 50/60 Hz, 1500/1800 rpm
- Displacement: 32.1 L (1,959 in³); bore 145 mm, stroke 162 mm
- Cooling: heat exchanger or keel cooled, with separate circuit aftercooling (SCAC)
- Flywheel housing SAE No. 0; 18 in flywheel, 136 teeth
- Oil change interval: 750 h
- Connections: sea water / JW heat exchanger and keel 76.2 mm (3 in); fuel supply JIC 37° -10, return JIC 37° -8
Optional equipment
Fumes disposal, charging alternators (70, 105 or 175 A), marine gear oil coolers, jacket water heater (120 or 240 V), exhaust components, instrument panels and sensors, duplex oil filters, shallow sump, fuel and oil shielding, air, electric or dual starting motors, isolator mounts, rear hydraulic pump drive, front stub shaft.
