Description

mtu Reman & Overhaul Solutions for marine customers extend the life of mtu engines in ferries, tugs and other vessels, giving engines a second or third service life. Work is carried out by Rolls-Royce Power Systems, the original manufacturer.

Factory Reman

  • Factory remanufactured engines and products with fixed pricing and fixed lead times
  • Faster than an individual overhaul and less expensive than new equipment
  • Same performance, service life, quality and warranty coverage as new mtu products, including design and model-related updates

Factory Overhaul

  • Returns the customer's original equipment to like-new condition, carried out by the same experts who built it
  • Complete system restored, including gearboxes, loose parts (e.g. oil cooler) and automation/electronics
  • Valid for Series 183, 396, 493, 538, 595, 652, 956, 1163 and various defense engines

In-situ overhaul

  • Overhaul carried out inside the ship when the engine cannot be removed
  • Choice of a comprehensive standard overhaul or a more basic condition-based service

Process and commercial terms

  • Fixed pricing and turnaround times agreed up front; full factory warranty
  • Overhaul procedures and test-bench standards set in Magdeburg, Germany, and applied worldwide
  • Remanufactured parts reused to shorten turnaround times
