Description

The Powerstart Jetstream 4 is a compact, rugged pneumatic air turbine starter for diesel engines up to 15 litres, designed for harsh environments and limited-space installations in marine, offshore and industrial applications.

Key features

  • Available as inertia starter (pinion rotates on activation, with bounce-and-retry engagement and centrifugal clutch disengagement) or pre-engaged starter (relay valve slides pinion into the ring gear before cranking, eliminating gear clash)
  • Low (3 bar), medium (10 bar) or high (30 bar) inlet pressure versions
  • Can be made more compact with a remote relay valve instead of the integrated one; compact muffler available
  • Exhaust options: guard, straight or 90° threaded adaptors, muffler compatible
  • Cast iron casing with aluminium components, corrosion resistant for marine and offshore use
  • No lubrication required

Approvals

  • Pre-engaged models conform to ATEX EN1834-1 and EN1834-2 for flammable gas and combustible dust atmospheres
