Heinen & Hopman Component
Marine Cooling Plant
Heinen & Hopman custom-built cooling plants for vessels and offshore structures: direct expansion (DX) units and chilled water units (CWU) for marine air conditioning.
Description
Heinen & Hopman supplies custom-built cooling plants – the refrigeration units of an air conditioning system – for any type of vessel or offshore structure. Each plant consists of a compressor, condenser, expansion valve and evaporator.
Configurations
- Direct expansion (DX) unit – located near the air handling unit, whose cooling coil acts as the evaporator, avoiding long refrigerant lines
- Chilled water unit (CWU) – uses chilled water (usually with glycol) between the evaporator and the air handling unit cooling coils; suited to long distances or multiple air handling units and avoids long Freon-filled pipes on board
