Filtration upgrades for enhanced engine protection
Auramarine fuel filtration upgrades protect engines from abrasive catalytic fines in low-sulphur residual fuels, with fine filters from six microns, replacement of existing filters or added pre-engine filters.
Description
Auramarine filtration upgrades reduce the risk of engine wear from catalytic fines, the highly abrasive particles that can remain in low-sulphur residual fuels. Upgrades follow the latest engine manufacturer guidelines and give better control over filter replacement intervals.
Upgrade options
- Replace existing auto-back-flushing filters in HFO/MDO feeder/booster units (typically after the feeder pump) with fine filters
- Add a second fine filter in front of the engine, with a combined drip tray and installation frame for easy, safe installation
- Fine filters available from six microns
Upgrade process
- Analysis of the current system against engine manufacturer requirements
- Technical options to prevent cat-fine damage, including re-evaluation of the fuel handling process where space or control constraints exist
- Modification design with upgraded specifications
- Supply of components
- Support integrating modified items into existing control systems
