ARCO Zeus Alternator Shield
Surge protector for high-output alternators that clamps voltage spikes from battery disconnects or LiFePO4 BMS shutdowns; 12, 24 and 48 V versions, rated to ISO 16750-2 load dump.
Description
The ARCO Zeus Alternator Shield protects high-output alternators from voltage spikes caused by sudden battery disconnects, such as LiFePO4 battery BMS shutdowns or accidental switch interruptions, which can destroy alternator diodes. It clamps excess voltage and diverts it to ground.

- Installs directly on the alternator battery-positive and ground posts

Limitations
- Cannot fully protect an alternator where the only voltage information is received over CAN bus; the ARCO Zeus Bluetooth regulator can cover this case with battery voltage sensing enabled
- Extreme surges (e.g. lightning) can damage the shield without a red LED indication
