Description

The ARCO Battery Isolator BI-1603 is a solid-state battery isolator for inboard and outboard boats, configured for 1 alternator, 3 batteries, 160 A max. It replaces Sierra 18-6854.

How it works

The isolator is a solid-state device that lets current flow in one direction only, so the charging source can be connected directly to multiple batteries without the higher-charged battery discharging into the lower one. All batteries are charged automatically, in proportion to their needs, whenever the engine runs. When used with selector switches, the switch position does not need to be changed to charge both batteries.

Limitations
