Beta Marine was formed in 1987 by four marine engineers with a combined total of over 70 years of experience in the design, manufacture and marketing of marine diesel propulsion engines and generating sets. The company is based at Davy Way, Waterwells, Quedgeley, Gloucester, where it operates its factory.

The company states that it has installed over 48,000 power units and ships through 56 export distributors, which also provide aftersales support worldwide. Dedicated seagoing, inland waterway and generating set teams work with the dealer and distributor network, and engines carry a 5 year self-service warranty.

Beta Marine holds ISO 9001:2015 quality certification and is listed on the JOSCAR supply chain accreditation register. Andrew Growcoot is CEO and Laurance Talbot is Chairman and Technical Director.
