Two-stage Turbocharging System
Original two-stage turbocharging system for 4-stroke medium-speed diesel engines, delivering low fuel consumption over a wide load range.
Description
Developed to comply with the IMO secondary regulation, the system uses a high-pressure Miller cycle with two-stage turbocharging to deliver low fuel consumption over a wide load range.
Key features
- Two turbochargers and two air coolers connected only by suction air pipes and an exhaust pipe, keeping the system simple to maintain
- Turbocharger and air-cooler units sit on both sides of the engine, giving mountability equivalent to the base engine
- Dynamic-pressure exhaust manifold for good acceleration at low load
