Wärtsilä Component
Wärtsilä Scrubber Systems (Exhaust Gas Cleaning)
Wärtsilä exhaust gas cleaning scrubbers in quench, venturi and compact inline designs for open loop, closed loop or hybrid operation, approved to IMO MEPC guidelines.
Description
Wärtsilä scrubber systems are exhaust gas cleaning systems for ships, available in several standard designs so the solution can be matched to vessel type, layout and operating profile.
Designs and operating modes
- Conventional quench and venturi designs
- Compact inline design (Wärtsilä IQ Series: smaller footprint, lighter)
- Open loop, closed loop or hybrid operation, selected according to operating patterns and routes
- Water treatment capability for safe discharge back to seawater
Key features
- Tested, verified and approved according to IMO MEPC guidelines and classification society rules
- Simple, efficient systems designed for minimal impact on crew workload
- Modular approach to address future limits on NOx, particulate matter and black carbon beyond SOx
