VEEM Interceptor™ Technology
Patented propeller technology using slide-in trailing-edge strips to change effective blade pitch in the water, without hauling out or modifying the propeller.
Description
VEEM Interceptor™ Technology lets fixed-pitch propellers be effectively re-pitched without lifting the vessel. Divers replace slide-in interceptor strips in minutes to tune performance for changes in displacement, water temperature, hull condition or operating profile ("Splash and Forget™").
How it works
- A precisely engineered protrusion on the trailing edge of the blade's pressure face creates a controlled surface discontinuity
- This forms a wedge of circulating fluid that increases lift in that region without the frictional drag of alternative foil designs
- Strip height determines the effective pitch; strips come in various heights and profiles to fine-tune each blade's relative pitch
