GEA Westfalia Cat Fine Master

GEA Westfalia Cat Fine Master: heavy fuel oil separator with controllable feed pump and GEA IO control for removing abrasive catalyst fines from fuel, with hot separation up to 110 °C.

Description

The GEA Westfalia Cat Fine Master is a fuel treatment system that removes catalyst fines (cat fines) from heavy fuel oil to protect ship main engines and power generation engines from abrasive wear. It consists of a heavy fuel oil separator and a feed pump that can be controlled during operation to match flow to process requirements, completed by the GEA IO control system and optional measurement and analysis equipment.

Key features

  • Hot separation: separation temperature can be raised to 110 °C (230 °F) to lower viscosity and increase separation efficiency
  • Variable flow for higher separation efficiency and energy savings
  • GEA IO one-touch operation with efficiency programs
  • CFR: separator sizing based on relevant regulations
  • unitrolplus: adjustment to difficult and changing feed conditions
  • hydrostop: virtually oil-free discharge

Applications

  • HFO treatment on ships, particularly with low-sulfur fuels carrying higher cat fine levels
  • Upgrade of existing fuel separator installations
