Dometic Steering Components for OXE Outboards

OXE Marine supplies Dometic Optimus steering components to build electric or electro-hydraulic steering systems for its diesel outboards.

Core components

• Pump Control Module (PCM) – receives helm commands and drives the steering pumps, using SmartCylinder position feedback; built-in fault detection; accepts certified autopilot input without an extra autopilot pump or RFU
• Optimus SmartCylinder – hydraulic steering cylinder with magnet and position sensor (RFU), for a single outdrive or up to two rudders/outboards on a tie-bar
• Optimus EPS hydraulic steering pump – PCM-controlled 12 V DC motor driving an on-demand gear pump with integral reservoir, relief valves and service/bypass valve; no oil cooler needed; limp-home on remaining engines; ignition-protected, SAE J-1171 rated
• Optimus Outboard Electric Steering Actuator – all-electric bolt-on replacement for the hydraulic cylinder with brushless DC motor and programmable steering settings; meets NMMA, ABYC, CE and SAE requirements
• Optimus EPS system – CANtrak display, PCM and one or two pumps; up to four motors with the Twin-pack; NMEA 2000 compatible
