Prop.act Hybrid Clutch Unit
Self-contained, ready-to-install clutch unit that varies propeller speed and thrust steplessly at constant engine speed, with continuous slipping, trolling to near zero and PTO; for rudder propeller drives.
Description
The Ortlinghaus Prop.act is a self-sufficient, ready-to-install clutch unit that allows propeller speed, and therefore thrust, to be varied steplessly via the control lever while the engine runs at constant speed. It is installed in the drive train between the rudder propeller and the engine.
Key features
- Extreme continuous slipping capability
- Slipping function protects the diesel engine against stalling, keeping drive available for fast reactions
- Trolling to propeller speeds close to zero using the slipping clutch with the additional brake
- Free positioning in the drive train, optional control system and own cooling system for simple integration
- Compact installation compared with separate components
- Sturdy construction for operational reliability
- Main service interval of at least 40,000 operating hours when deployed correctly
Options and interfaces
- Optional active brake
- Optional electric auxiliary pump
- Permanent condition monitoring via speed, pressure and temperature sensors
- Customer PTO, e.g. to drive the propeller adjustment pump
