Main and Emergency Switchboards

Noris main and emergency switchboards form the core of a ship's electrical power distribution, combining robust hardware with integrated power management functions such as generator control, synchronisation, load sharing and monitoring. Systems are modular and tailored to project and vessel requirements.

Panel types

• Main switchboard – distributes power from generators or shore connection to all onboard systems
• Emergency switchboard – on blackout, disconnects from the main switchboard, starts the emergency generators and restores supply; reconnects and shuts down emergency generators when normal operation returns
• Shore connection panel – undervoltage, overload and short-circuit protection; optional phase monitoring, automatic phase conversion and energy measurement
• Power distribution panel – 440 VAC and 220 VAC distribution to consumers and lighting, in various installation types and protection classes
• Group and single motor starter panels – manual and remote start/stop; direct, star-delta and soft start; protection against short circuit, overload, phase failure and undervoltage
• Charging and discharging panel – battery management
• Electrical test panel – testing and repair of small electrical equipment
