Mercury Verado 600hp

Mercury Verado 600 hp V12 outboard with 7.6L quad-cam powerhead, automatic two-speed transmission, independent steerable gearcase, contra-rotating propellers and 150 A alternator.

Description

The Mercury Verado 600hp is a V12 outboard, the first V12 in the outboard segment, built for large premium boats. It combines a 7.6L quad-cam powerhead with an automatic two-speed transmission and an independent, electro-hydraulically steered gearcase.

Key features

  • 7.6 L V12 quad-cam powerhead; compact footprint allows mounting on 27-inch centers
  • Automatic two-speed transmission: first gear for torque and acceleration, second for efficient cruise and top speed
  • Independent steerable gearcase – only the gearcase turns, with no engine movement above water
  • Dual contra-rotating propellers designed for the 600 hp output
  • Next-generation Advanced MidSection (AMS) mounting to isolate noise and vibration
  • Calibrated for full performance on 87-octane fuel; Advanced Range Optimization (ARO)
  • Top-cowl access door for oil checks; color-coded service points

Performance (maker test data)

  • Test boat 43 ft / 22,000 lb day boat: twin 600 hp Verados gave 20% better fuel economy at cruise and 24% better at top speed versus triple 425 hp competitor outboards, and 15% faster cruise speed at best cruise mpg
  • Noise and vibration on par with the V8 300 hp Verado; 30% quieter (Mercury NVH Technical Center test)

Technical data

  • Power: 600 hp
  • Displacement: 7.6 L (V12)
  • Alternator: 150 A
  • Dry weight (lightest model): 1260 lbs / 572 kg
