Turnkey hybrid and DC power systems for vessels, with Høglund PMS controlling DC/hybrid switchboards and drives from Vacon, The Switch and Danfoss Editron, including PTO/PTI and peak-shaving modes.
Description
Høglund Power Systems covers turnkey hybrid and DC power solutions for most vessel types, with Høglund acting as power systems integrator: electrical equipment, hybrid system control and integration with other onboard systems.
DC and hybrid switchboard control
Høglund PMS, based on ABB automation equipment, can control anything from basic hybrid systems to advanced DC switchboards. Operating modes include:
- PTO / PTI / PTI Boost / PTH
- Variable speed PTO
- Peak shaving
- DP mode
- Shore connection
- Speed control of pumps and fans fed from the DC bus via inverters
Vacon multidrives with Høglund control software
- AC/DC–DC/AC conversion, DC/DC conversion and voltage boosting
- Diode rectifiers and inverters
- Water- or air-cooled, type approved for marine installation
The Switch with Høglund control software
- DC Multidrive: modular power drive units stackable in parallel, integrating power generation, energy storage, propulsion and ship power; passive or active rectifiers; directly liquid-cooled converters with no external fan
- Permanent magnet machines (PMM): for electric propulsion or shaft generators driven by low-speed two-stroke engines, with high efficiency over a wide speed range
Danfoss Editron with Høglund control software
- Compact, lightweight converters usable as motor inverter, generator converter, active front end or microgrid unit
- Lightweight PM motors up to 1000 kW, integrable with the propeller system
Applications
Hybrid deliveries include asphalt carriers (Wuhu Shipyard) and 1A ice-class hybrid bulk vessels (Chowgule Shipyard).
