Description

Gamesa Electric Alternators for GenSets are medium-voltage synchronous alternators built in Spain, with a robust welded-steel construction for high reliability and a full range of options tailored to customer requirements.

Design

  • Cylindrical outer core frame in mechanically welded steel with raised legs (IM1101) and steel shields
  • Shields designed for axial and radial stresses and high vibration; SAE flange adaptor on request
  • Single-bearing design with two ball bearings as standard; double-bearing arrangement available

  • Frames: MV56 and MV63 (XS to XL lengths)
  • Voltage: 3.3 / 4.1 / 6 / 6.3 kV (insulation class H) and 11 / 13.8 kV (class F)
  • Vacuum pressure impregnation insulation; bar-wound, 4 poles
  • Excitation: brushless with PMG; digital AVR with 3-phase voltage sensing
  • Protection IP23, IC01 open-ventilated cooling; IP44 inlet filter optional
  • Winding RTDs for temperature monitoring; anti-condensation heaters
  • Paralleling capability
  • Ratings at 1500 rpm/50 Hz and 1800 rpm/60 Hz, continuous and standby duty

Operating conditions

  • Up to 55 °C ambient; ad-hoc cooling for harsher environments
  • Operation up to 2,500 m above sea level
