Description

The Dräger PIR 7000 is an explosion-proof point infrared gas detector for continuous monitoring of flammable gases and vapours. A hermetically sealed stainless steel 316L enclosure and drift-free optics make it suitable for harsh industrial environments such as offshore installations.

Two models are available, type 334 and type 340, each using a different measuring wavelength to cover the broadest range of detectable substances.

  • Configurable response mode (normal or high speed); response under 1 second
  • Configurable gas library: methane, propane and ethylene fixed, up to 10 additional substances can be uploaded
  • Adjustable measuring ranges, LEL values and special signals (fault, beam block warning, maintenance) to NAMUR NE 43
  • Beam block warning for dirty optics; long maintenance intervals
  • 4–20 mA output and HART® with single-cable multidrop capability
  • No moving parts; shock and vibration resistant up to 4 G
  • Continuous self-testing; developed to IEC/EN 61508, SIL 2 certified by TÜV
  • Typical lifetime over 15 years

Compatibility

Works with Dräger REGARD 3000, REGARD 3000 plus, REGARD 3900 and REGARD 7000 control systems; configured and calibrated with Dräger CC-Vision GDS software. Accessories include calibration adapter, duct mount kit, flow cell, hydrophobic filter, insect guard, mounting set, process adapter and process cuvette.
