CJR Propulsion Component
CJR Shaft Couplings
Propeller shaft couplings from CJR Propulsion – keyed tapered, keyless tapered and parallel clamped – designed and NDT-tested to IACS rules, with ISO 1:10, SAE 1:16, BS 1:12 or keyless 1:30 tapers.
Description
CJR Shaft Couplings transfer torque from the gearbox to the propeller shaft. They are designed, machined and tested, including NDT, strictly to IACS rules for class work.
Types
- Keyed tapered
- Keyless tapered
- Parallel clamped
- Bespoke designs for limited inboard space, with coupling and key calculations
Manufacturing
- Mild steel as standard; high-tensile steel and other materials on request
- Material from IACS-approved mills if required
- Tapers to ISO 1:10, SAE 1:16, BS marine 1:12 or keyless 1:30; non-standard tapers can be machined
Installation and support
- Hydraulic pusher/puller and Propsmith mechanical system for keyed couplings and propeller fitting
- Complete hydraulic kit for keyless connections, including SKF hydraulic nut and pump
- Shaft and coupling misalignment diagnosis with TrialsAPP without removing the shaft or lifting the vessel
- Replacement and retrofit of couplings of any design within the manufacturing range
