Mercury Product Protection
Factory-backed extended service contract for Mercury and MerCruiser engines and MotorGuide trolling motors, extending coverage up to eight years total in Gold (mechanical) or Platinum (mechanical and electrical) levels.
Description
Mercury Product Protection is an extended service contract administered by Mercury Marine for Mercury and MerCruiser engines and MotorGuide trolling motors. It covers certain expenses caused by defects in materials and workmanship after the Mercury Limited Warranty expires.
Key features
- Up to eight years of total coverage (Limited Warranty plus Product Protection)
- Non-declining coverage, transferable to subsequent recreational owners
- Gold level: mechanical failures; Platinum level: mechanical and electrical failures
- Parts and labor coverage using genuine Mercury and Quicksilver parts
- Service at more than 3,600 Mercury dealers in the US and Canada
- Covers Mercury and Quicksilver engine-related accessories such as steering fixtures, remote controls and instrumentation (excluding propellers)
- On-water tow-in allowance and hoist/haul-out allowance (boats 26 ft or longer) of up to $200 per claim each
Eligibility
- Must be purchased before the Mercury Limited Warranty expires; models manufactured in the current and four preceding calendar years
- Recreational use only, fewer than 500 engine hours at purchase
- Residents of the United States or Canada boating in the US or Canada; commercial and government use excluded
