Description
The Mercury FourStroke 250–300hp outboards use a 4.6L V8 quad-cam powerhead and are designed for a wide variety of boats in fresh and saltwater.

- Adaptive Speed Control maintains engine rpm despite changes in load or conditions
- Large muffler and vibration-dampening cowl for smooth, quiet running; the 300 hp is stated as 33% quieter at cruise with 30% less transmitted vibration at idle than the leading four-stroke competitor
- Top Cowl Service Door for checking or adding oil without removing the cowl
- 85 A alternator with idle charge battery management, raising idle rpm to boost charging when needed
- Mounts on 26-inch centers for repowers and new installations
- Compatible with SmartCraft: Digital Throttle & Shift (DTS), Active Trim, VesselView Mobile and Joystick Piloting for Outboards (JPO) for single-engine pontoons
