ME Production Exhaust Gas Cleaning System (EGCS)

The ME Production Exhaust Gas Cleaning System (EGCS) is a marine SOx scrubber for newbuilds and retrofits, removing over 98% of sulphur oxides in line with IMO regulations. Systems are built to specification at ISO 9001-certified facilities in Denmark and China and are available in open loop, closed loop and hybrid modes.

• Inline or U-type design; scrubber sizes from D1300 to D6000
• Low power consumption through variable frequency converters and very low wash water pressure in the scrubber tower
• Plug & play: tower delivered with valves, instrumentation, manifold and electrical wiring, factory tested

Scrubber designs

• Inline scrubber: designed for dry-mode operation with packed bed; smaller footprint, optional bypass, shipped fully assembled and insulated; scrubber material SMO254. Open loop, closed loop or hybrid.
• Bypass scrubber: for newbuilds or retrofits with funnel space for a bypass line; simpler design with fewer components, packed bed, dry mode not applicable; exhaust inlet SMO254, scrubber Super Duplex/Duplex.

Scrubber conversion

Upgrades for existing or end-of-life EGCS units: full control system replacement, emission sensor retrofits, scrubber tower exchange and pump energy optimisation.
