HT PEM fuel cell stack

High-temperature PEM methanol fuel cell stack in 6 kW and 13 kW variants (up to 20 kW), operating at 160–170°C with liquid cooling, 1–3% CO tolerance and integrated evaporator; applications include maritime APUs.

Description

The HT PEM fuel cell stack from Blue World Technologies is a high-temperature proton exchange membrane stack designed for methanol reforming systems. It is offered in 6 kW and 13 kW variants for typical applications and can deliver up to 20 kW, enabling high system power density.

Key features

  • Integrated evaporator tailored for steam reforming integration, simplifying methanol evaporation and reducing energy consumption
  • High CO tolerance: accepts 1–3% carbon monoxide, allowing a simple system design without reformate gas purification
  • Simple cooling: operates at 160–170°C and is liquid cooled, reducing cooling system size and fan parasitic losses compared with other PEM types
  • Waste heat utilisation: the 160–170°C cooling medium provides high-value waste heat
  • Reduced balance of plant: no cell voltage monitoring (CVM) or humidification required
  • Reduced NOx, SOx and particle emissions

Supply options

  • Direct stack sales (6 kW and 13 kW) to experienced system integrators
  • Equipment sales: fuel cell stack and methanol fuel reformer with basic documentation and user manual
  • Equipment Sales+: adds proof-of-concept/demo, engineering services and support (P&ID, schematics, BoM information)
  • Corporate partnerships for partners designing their own systems

Applications

  • Maritime APU and light maritime
  • Stationary and supplemental power
  • Heavy-duty, automotive, materials handling, non-road, construction and agricultural applications
