Ulstein Design & Solutions offers CFD (computational fluid dynamics) simulations, a numerical tool for analysing fluid flow that complements, and in some cases replaces, model-scale testing.
Applications
- Daily prediction of calm water hull resistance
- Design and alignment of hull lines and appendages for the lowest possible hull drag
- Analysis of performance in waves, affecting fuel consumption and crew and passenger comfort
- Flow simulations for external clients, also outside the marine industry, using in-house CFD software and computing hardware
