Description
Nuclear Fuel Services (NFS), a BWXT subsidiary, manufactures fuel material for all naval nuclear reactors used in U.S. submarines and aircraft carriers. NFS also converts government stockpiles of highly enriched uranium (HEU) into material suitable for processing into commercial reactor fuel.
The Erwin, Tennessee plant is one of two BWXT facilities in the U.S. licensed by the NRC to store and process HEU.
